RENOVATION UPATE
Renovation Update as of August 28, 2026
Good news!! The steel beam is being installed ahead of schedule. Prep. work for this has already begun, allowing the beam to be installed in the last week of July. As such, we will NOT be able to use the sancturay on August 2 and August 9. Although the contractor is confident we only need to miss one Sunday, we have chosen to build in some contingency. For these two Sundays, we are suggesting some alternate practices.
AUGUST 2: Meet with your small group (or a collection of friends) to eat together and discuss the story in Genesis 22. This story highlights Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides, and will give you opportunity to share stories of where you have experienced God in this way. A discussion guide is here
AUGUST 9: Immerse yourself in creation (by yourself or with a small group of friends). After reading Psalm 19, take time to listen to what creation is saying and what creation is saying about Elohim, the Creator God. Write a prayer of thanksgiving. A reflection guide is here.
We will continue to meet for worship again on August 16. You are also invited to join us for Wednesday Dinners on August 12 and August 26. Please register by clicking on the appropriate date.

I hope your summer has included some moments of wonder and rest.
A quick update regarding the renonvation (more details coming in September). The project is moving along very well. The beam has been installed and framing is well underway. Electrical work is in process. Mechanical rooms are being prepared. Windows will be delivered early next week. Along the way, seveal additional "things" have been discovered and have been addressed (for example, several leaks were found in the basement). From what I can gather, the project is on track and within budget. The completion date remains the end of November.
I was given an extensive tour yesterday and was able to imagine (for the first time) what this space will look like when it is done. It will be a transformed and very useable space!! It almost makes me excited for winter!!
