The VBC
Marriage Course
The aim of
our Marriage Course is to
enable married couples to build a healthy marriage that will last a
lifetime.
The dates for the Spring
Session of the Marriage Course have been set. The course will
run April 11, April 18, May 2, May 9, May 16, May 30 and June 6th,
2010. If you are interested in building and enriching your marriage, please contact Lynn in the church office
(403-288-1121) to register for the next session.
Our evening starts promptly with
dinner served at 5:00pm. We suggest that you arrive between
4:50 - 4:55pm for punch and table selection.
The topics covered in the 7
weeks are:
1. Building strong foundations
2. The art of Communication
3. Resolving conflict
4. The power of forgiveness
5. Parents and In-laws
6. Good loving
7. Love in action
We have the room set up with tables for two with linen,
crystal, roses and candlelight. We serve a buffet style dinner,
couples have about 35 minutes to enjoy dinner. We serve dessert
during the longer discussion break during the video
sessions and try very hard to finish the
evening by 7:45p.m. for those that do have child care concerns.
Over seven
evenings spent together you will:

find out new
things about each other, and new things about yourself.

have the
opportunity to talk about issues that have been swept under the
carpet in the rush of daily life.

discover what
makes their partner feel loved.
-
have the time to
discuss ways you might have caused each other pain and discover how to
heal the hurt.
-
recognize the
sources of pressure on their relationship. Some learn new skills for
communicating and resolving conflict.
