Outside Events:
Ideas
That Count - a Downtown Lunch Time series to
create a space for Christians to have their voice
heard in the marketplace of ideas. Beginning March
3, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Globe
Theatre (8th Ave and 6th Street SW). This monthly
speaker series will introduce the Christian ideas
that count, that were foundational to the
development of Western Civilization. This month, Ted
Byfield will present what has been learned over 2000
years of Christian history as a way to encourage
today's Christians in their faith. Although the
series has been designed for Christians to invite
their non-churched friends, this first session is
specifically directed to Christians, as the goals of
the series are introduced.. Anyone who works
downtown or who knows people who work downtown is
encouraged to put it on their calendar. Admission is
free and donations are accepted. For further
information, contact Murray Lytle.
Truth
Project - All and Everyone are invited to a
twelve-week session based on the DVD series "Truth
Project" (produced by Focus on the Family). This
series is designed to introduce people to the truth
claims of God, and to help people "think
Christianly" 24/7. Most importantly, it addresses
the need to marry our actions to our core beliefs.
There will be room for discussion over some of these
controversial topics. If you are interested in being
part of this seminar, please contact Murray Lytle by
February 7th. A time frame will be determined based
on
participants schedules.
